Indo-Greek Kingdom. Menander I. Ca. 165/55-130 B.C. AR drachm (17 mm, 2.25 g). Diademed heroic bust of Menander left, wearing aegis and brandishing spear; Greek legend around / Athena Promachos advancing left, brandishing thunderbolt and aegis; monogram to right and Kharoshthi legend around Maharajasa tratarasa Menamdrasa (of Great King Menander the Savior). HGC 12, 187. An attractive specimen, well-centered and lightly toned. Nice very fine.
