ROMAN EMPIRE. Constantius II. AD. 337-361. Gold Solidus (4.46 gm; 21 mm). Sirmium mint, struck 351-355 AD. Diademed, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Constantius II facing, holding spear and shield having horseman and foe motif. Reverse: Roma and Constantinopolis seated facing, both supporting shield inscribed VOT / XXX / MVLT / XXXX; GLORIA REIPVBLICAE; SIRM below, pellet at left. Fr-866; RIC VIII 9; Cohen 112; Depeyrot 7/1. Sharply struck on a nice broad flan. Great style and strike. Couple of minor graffiti on the obverse field, otherwise well struck. Choice Superb. Fully lustrous.
