NORWAY. Modum. Blaafarveværket. AR Medal (46mm - 50.75 g). View of the Blaafarveværket / Arms of Norway. Struck in .925 silver to honor the Blaafarveværket, a cobalt mining and processing company, which was the largest industrial company in Norway in the 19th century. It was founded in 1776 in Modum by Christian VII. Today the building is a museum. Lot also includes an example of the medal struck in copper. Both as struck. Two (2) medals in lot.
