PHILIP II. 247-249 AD. AR Antoninianus (24mm - 4.45 g). Antioch mint. Struck 249 AD. IMP PHILIPPVS AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / AEQVITAS AVGG, Aequitas standing facing, head left, holding scales in right hand, cornucopia in left. RIC -; F. Presently unique and the only published specimen. There are only three known antoniniani of Philip II minted at Antioch which employ this later, short obverse legend, IMP PHILIPPVS AVG: P M TR P VI COS P P, Felicitas, Òvari 40b; SAECVLVM NOVVM, Òvari 50b; and this coin, which was unknown to Òvari but which was cited by Muona.
