Description
NORWAY. 1972. Haakon VII. 1905-1958. AV Medal (40mm - 55 g). Struck to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Haakon's birth. Obverse shows a three-quarter's facing bust of King Haakon, the reverse a crown. Struck in 90% gold, this medal contains 1.6 oz. of gold, $2230 at $1400/oz gold. As issued in original box, this is number 1612 in a series of 2000. Lot also includes an example struck in .925 silver that weighs 45 grams, or 1.33 oz. of silver, or $46 at $35/oz silver. Housed in its original issue case. Two (2) medals in lot.
