TABERISTAN, Khurshid, (115-142 AH). year 100. Silver Hemidrachm (2.04 gm; 24 mm). Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter, dot at the wings above crown, Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint “TPURSTAN (Tabaristan)” on the right, date: 100. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif; Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, and Abbasid’s Saffah and Mansur. On reverse, dot on the 1st quarter outside of the main circles. Choice EF. Lightly toned. Rare.
