Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX. 1282-1328. AV hyperpyron (23 mm, 4.19 g, 5 h). Constantinople, 1294-1303. Half-length figure of the the Theotokos (Virgin Mary), orans, within city walls with six towers; pellet-lis to either side / Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus and Michael kneeling to either side. SB 2396. Very fine.
