[Roman Imperial]. Lot of three Trajan-era Hercules/Boar coins. Includes: Quadrans. Rome. IMP CAES TRAIAN AVG GERM, bust of Hercules, diademed, right / S C in exergue, boar walking right. RIC 702; BMC 1062 // Trajan-era minima (or possibly uncia) of Caesarea Maritima, civic issue. Same types but crude. Cf. Hamburger 35-43. (Collector's note: The most similar coin to this one illustrated in H. Hamburger, 'Minute coins from Caesarea,' 'Atiqot I (Jerusalem, 1955), pp. 115-138 includes his supposition that it is actually an 'uncia', and is probably the prototype for these minimae which he assigns to Caesarea Maritima.) // Trajan-era barbarous imitation. Bust right (presumably intended as Hercules, or Trajan?); partial legend around // Stylized animal walking right, (presumably intended as a boar). An interesting (and quite humorous) reverse. Fair-VF. LOT SOLD AS-IS, RETURNS NOT PERMITTED.
