Roman. Ca. 300 B.C.-A.D. 400. Silver talisman. 7.3 cm length. A silver amulet looped for suspension in the form of a club, wound with wire on the handle, and with the loop held in the open jaws of a lion. Dark toning with some light earthen encrustations. An exceptional and interesting talisman referring to Hercules.
