A note from the collector: The area of Caesarea Philippi, the city in which this coin was minted, seems to have been known as Ba'al Hermon and Ba'al Gad in Scripture. It is also the area in which Peter made his 'great confession', and where 'the transfiguration' occurred, (Matthew 16:13 and surrounding verses).

This lot comes with a Certificate of Authenticity issued by David R. Sear.
