Seleukid Kingdom. Antiochos VIII Epiphanes. Sole reign, 121/0-97/6 B.C. AR tetradrachm (30 mm, 16.08 g, 1 h). Damascus, S.E. 193 (120/19 B.C.). Diademed head of Antiochos VIII right / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ ΕΠΙ-ΦΑΝΟΥΣ, Zeus Ouranios standing facing, head left, holding star and scepter; in outer left field, AP above ΕΣ;in exergue, date (ΓqP); all within laurel wreath. SC 2321.2b; HGC 9, 1197g. Lightly toned, slight porosity, small area of smoothing before face, a few light cleaning scratches elsewhere. Good very fine.
