Description
Parthian Kingdom. Vardanes I. Ca. A.D. 38-46. BI tetradrachm (26 mm, 12 h). Seleukeia on the Tigris, Aremesiou, S.E. 355 (April, A.D. 43/4). Diademed bust of Vardanes I left, wearing spiral torque / King enthroned right, receiving palm branch from Tyche standing facing, head left, holding cornucopiae; above, year (ENT); in exergue, month (off flan). Sellwood 64.23; Shore 351. In an NGC slab without grade. Light cleaning scratches in reverse field. Very fine.
