Description
Parthian Kingdom. Vologases I. First reign, ca. A.D. 50-54/5. BI tetradrachm (28 mm, 12 h). Seleukeia on the Tigris, Gorpiaou, uncertain year (August). Diademed bust of Vologases I left, wearing torque with central medallion / King enthroned left, receiving diadem branch from Tyche standing right, holding scepter; above, year (unclear); in exergue, month (ΓΟΡΠ[IAOV]). Cf. Sellwood 68.2; Shore -. In an NGC slab without grade. Very fine.
