Whitting, P. D. Byzantine Coins. 311 pp., 457 coins illus., many on full color plates. Blue cloth w/ pictorial dj. Dj showing slight age yellowing and minor shelf wear. Last fifth of pages beginning to separate from spine.

Each title was written by a prominent scholar of the subject matter, and all were lavishly produced. Each includes a select bibliography and often a glossary (the Byzantine volume has an additional glossary describing Byzantine dress), numerous full color plates, discussion of types, historical background, and iconography. The books have a slight "smokers" odor, which should continue to dissipate over time if kept in a smoke-free environment..
