Achaemenid Kingdom. Darios I to Xerxes I. Ca. 505-480 B.C. AR siglos (14 mm, 5.31 g). Persian king or hero in kneeling-running stance right, drawing bow / Oblong incuse punch. Carradice Type II (pl. XI, 12-13); cf. SNG Kayhan 1027; SNG Copenhagen 280; Carradice, "Two Achaemenid Hoards," NC 1998, 69-70 (same dies). Attractively toned, well centered on a nice flan. Nice very fine.
