Sasanian Kingdom. Ardashir I. A.D. 223/4-240. AR drachm (25 mm, 4.23 g, 3 h). Mint B ('Hamadan'). Diademed bust of Ardashir I right, wearing close-fitting headdress with earflaps and with korymbos / Fire altar with diadems; no attendants. SNS type IIIb(4a)/3c; Göbl type III/1/2; cf. Sunrise 703. Lightly toned, well struck on a nice flan. Extremely fine.
