Description

Octavian. 30 BC. AR Denarius (21mm - 3.70 g). Uncertain Italian mint, possibly Rome. Victory standing right on prow of galley, holding wreath in extended right hand, palm over left shoulder / IMP CAESAR in exergue, Octavian driving triumphal quadriga right, holding branch and reins. RIC I 264; BMCRE 617; CRI 416; RSC 115. Good VF, toned, some obverse roughness on the wheel and in the exergue.
