TABERISTAN. Khurshid (Khorshid); (115-142 AH). Silver Hemidrachm (2.00 gm; 24 mm). Obverse; Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter. Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint “TPURSTAN (Tabaristan)” on the right, date: 107. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif; Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, and Abbasid’s Saffah and Mansur. Malek 73; Cf. Album 55. Choice Supeb "Almost as Struck". Lightly toned.
