ISLAMIC ANTIQUE AGATE SEAL (1.08 gm; 15mm x 13mm).- Persia - late Safavid, to early Qajar period, phrase in Persian “ya Aba-Abdalluh” which is a common prayer by the followers of Shia branch of Islam. This is a prayer to the third and martyr Imam Hussein which was the most remarkable revolutionary figure of early Islamic history who challenged Umayyad’s rule as unsavory and un-Islamic and eventually was killed leading and participating in the battle against the Umayyads forces. The Ashura ceremonies is the commemoration of the battle in 68 AH. Wonderful style of Calligraphy. Excellent condition.
