SASANIAN KINGS. Ardashir I. AD. 224-240. Æ (2.42 gm; 15 mm). Ardashir I with Persis crown and anchor behind the head over struck on an Elymian Bronze coin with clear visible Anchor behind head, reverse, stand alone fire altar. All Sasanian coins over struck on another host coins are extremely rare. Ardashir I and Shapur I both struck coins over the earlier host coins which all are considered extremely rare. Nice brown patina. Choice Good VF.
