Description
Danubian Celts. Bird-rider ('Vogelreiter') type. Late 3rd century B.C. AR tetradrachm (25 mm, 14.57 g, 1'). Copying Philip II of Macedon. Laureate head of Zeus right / Celticized horseman riding right, holding palm; above, bird flying right; before, rosette. CCCBM 21; OTA 336; Preda pl. IX, 8; Kostial 673 (same obv. die). Lightly toned, good VF.
