Description
KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III 'The Great'. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm - 17.00 g). Babylon mint. Lifetime issue, circa 325-323 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / Zeus seated left, holding eagle in right hand, scepter in left; Nike and M before, monogram under throne. Price 3678; Müller -; Demanhur 4465. VF, deposits on either side, a few light scratches.
The M is an unusual location below the left leg of the throne instead of being directly below Nike.
