Severus Alexander. A.D. 222-235. AR denarius (18 mm, 2.90 g, 12 h). Uncertain eastern mint, perhaps Antioch, A.D. 222. IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, laureate and draped bust of Severus Alexander right / P M TR P COS P P, Mars standing left, holding olive branch and inverted spear; in left field, star. RIC 266; BMC 1032; RSC 207a. Lightly toned, a few minor deposits on reverse. Good very fine.
