Description
Severus Alexander. A.D. 222-235. AR denarius (18 mm, 3.52 g, 11 h). Uncertain eastern mint, perhaps Antioch, A.D. 223. IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, laureate and draped bust of Severus Alexander right / PROVID DEORVM, Providentia standing facing, head left, holding baton and scepter; globe at feet to left. RIC 294; BMC 1062; RSC 495. Slightly worn obverse die. Good very fine.
