Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 B.C. AR tetradrachm (28 mm, 17.11 g, 4 h). Babylon, ca. 315-311 B.C. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated left, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, M; below throne, monogram within wreath. Price 3740. Fine style Herakles. Toned, minor smoothing and scratches in left field of reverse, a few marks otherwise. Very fine.
