Description
Macedonian Kingdom. Perseus. 179-168 B.C. AR tetradrachm (33 mm, 16.13 g, 11 h). Pella or Amphipolis, ca. 173-171 B.C. Me..., mintmaster. Diademed head of Perseus right / BAΣI-ΛEΩΣ ΠEP-ΣEΩΣ, eagle standing right on thunderbolt, wings displayed; above, ΖΩ monogram; in right field, ME monogram; between eagle's legs, EY monogram; all within oak-wreath; below, plow right. Mamroth 4; SNG Alpha Bank 1131. Toned, porosity and smoothing on obverse. Very fine.
