Seleukid Kingdom. Alexander I Balas. 152/1-145 B.C. Æ (18 mm, 5.87 g, 12 h). Antioch on the Orontes, 150-146 B.C. Head of Alexander I right, wearing lion's skin headdress / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ [ΑΛ]ΕΞ-ΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Apollo standing facing, head left, holding arrow and resting hand on grounded bow; in oute left field, uncertain control. SC 1795; HGC 9, 901. Black patina with earthen deposits. Very fine.
