Description

Phoenicia, Arados. Ca. 138/7-44/3 BC. AR tetradrachm (29 mm, 14.81 g, 12 h). CY 140 (120/19 B.C.). Veiled, draped and turreted bust of Tyche righ / APAΔIΩN, Nike advancing left, holding wreath and palm frond; in left field, MP (date) above Aramaic A above ?Ν; all within wreath. Duyrat 3137; HGC 10, 72. Extremely rare - Duyrat cites just one example. Some porosity and roughness. Very fine.
