Description
Paphlagonia, Sinope. Augustus, with Gaius & Lucius, Caesars. 27 B.C.-A.D. 14 Æ (20 mm, 5.05 g, 6 h). Civic year 42 (5/4 B.C.). [C I F A]N XLII, laureate head of Augustus right / EX D D in exergue, confronted bare heads of Gaius and Lucius Caesars. RPC 2122 (same dies as illus.); RG 89. Extremely rare - just four specimens recorded in RPC, all struck from the same dies. Brown patina with earthen-green deposits, well centered but rough, especially the reverse. Nearly very fine.
