SEVERUS ALEXANDER. 222-235 AD. Æ Sestertius (31mm - 23.69 g). Rome mint. Struck 232 AD. IMP ALEXANDER PIVS AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right / PROVIDENTIA AVG, S-C across fields, Providentia standing left, holding grain ears in right hand over modius, cornucopia in left arm. RIC IV 642; BMCRE 881. VF, dark grayish-green patina, some minor roughness.
