Claudius. A.D. 41-54. Æ 'proto-contorniate' medallion (30 mm, 18.37 g, 6 h). Rome, or possibly a contemporary imitation of Rome. Laureate head of Claudius right / Spes advancing left, holding flower and raising hem of skirt. Cf. RIC 99 and 115. Edges hammered. Green patina. Fine.
