Commodus. A.D. 177-192. AR denarius (17 mm, 2.58 g, 6 h). Rome, A.D. 191/2. L AEL AVREL CO-MM AVG P FEL, head of Commodus as Hercules right, wearing lion's skin headdress / HER-CVL / RO-MAN / AV-GV divided by club; all within wreath. RIC 251; BMC 339; RSC 190. Minor porosity. Nearly very fine.
