Description
Republic of the Philippines, WWII Philippine Liberation Medal, mark on back: Military Jewelers "EL ORO" JOSE J TUPAZ Quezon City (original manufacture 1948). The Philippine Liberation was first instituted in December 1944 as a ribbon-only award due to the shortage of brass at the end of WWII. In 1948 manufacturing of medals began at El Oro military jewelers.
