ISLAMIC SEAL, Safavid-Qajar period. Green Agate Seal (1.38 gm; 16mm x 14mm). Legend in Persian "be saf-e bakhshoodegi -e ahl-e gonah dar mahshar"bast-e ast be gardesh-e ashk-e cheshmaan-e Hussein" meaning: On the Day of the Judgment, the sinners will be forgiven only by the tears of Hussein. Hussein is son of Imam Ali and the third Shia Imam who waged battle against the Umayyad Khalif Yazid I and was martyred in the battle of Karbala in 68 AH. Hussein is considered to be a revolutionary leader of many sects both religious and non-religious during the course of centuries. Excellent condition.
