Description

An excellent Inca bottle from Peru, c. 1300 – 1500 AD. This fine vessel is 5-3/4” high and is decorated with a pair of confronted birds, set off against the stippled background. The birds are highlighted with red and brown paint; the suspension loops are intact, with additional decorative elements on the set back equator of the chamber. Great paint, good mineral deposits, small probe hole does not detract. Ex Tapia collection. Value Range: $450 - $600
