A superb Moche shell vessel from Peru, c. 500 – 700 AD. This fine orangeware effigy piece is 4-3/4” high and depicts a sea shell. It is decorated with a large number of nacre inlays, as well as rare purple paint. In excellent condition, with strong mineral deposits. Ex Tapia collection. Value range: $400 - $500
