Description
A choice Maya polychrome cylinder from El; Salvador, ca. 400 – 800 AD. This gorgeous example is 7” high, 5-3/4” in diameter and depicts a pair of seated lords, each posed with one hand extended. Each figure is adorned with an ornate avian headdress and extensive jewelry. They are separated and surrounded by bands of Copador glyphs. Vivid colors, good mineral deposits. Ex Schultz collection. Value range: $2800 - $3500.
