Description
A large Colima shaman figure from West Mexico, c. 300 BC – 300 AD. He is 11” high and is portrayed seated behind a large, decorated drum. He is wearing a death mask and a complex headdress with the protruding shaman’s horn. He is depicted drinking from a cup and has a pair of large serpents deeply incised into his back. A large and showy piece, with good mineral deposits and small areas of restoration. Ex Arnold collection. Value range: $1400 - $1800
