ANTONINUS PIUS. 138-161 AD. Æ Sestertius (32mm - 29.20 g). Rome mint. Struck 143-4 AD. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P COS III, laureate head right / IMPERA-TOR II, S-C across fields, Fides standing right, holding grain ears in right hand, basket of fruit in left. RIC III 716a; BMCRE 1608. VF, dark greenish-brown patina, nice flan.

Pius was acclaimed imperator for the second time following the victory of Q. Lollius Urbicus over the Brigantes in Britain, and the construction of the Antonine Wall.
