Ujjain city state. 2nd century B.C. Æ unit (16 mm, 5.34 g). Goddess Lakshmi standing facing, holding a taurine symbol in her raised arm, flanked by Ujjain symbol and tree-in-railing, with swastika to top right / 4-orbed Ujjain symbol. Pieper, Ancient Indian Coins Revisited, 298. An attractive depiction of Lakshmi. Rare. Brown patina with a few light deposits. Nearly very fine.
