SICILY. Syracuse. Second Democracy. 466-406 BC. AR Tetradrachm (23mm - 17.37 g). Struck 450-440 BC. Charioteer driving walking quadriga right, holding kentron in right hand, reins in both; Nike flying above and crowning horses, ketos right in exergue / Head of Arethusa right, wearing single-pendant earring and a necklace with a pendant, hair bound with a band wrapped around head three times; four dolphins around swimming clockwise. Boehringer 569-570 var. (V287/R390 - unlisted die combination); SNG ANS 184 (same obverse die). VF, lightly toned, nice metal, obverse slightly double struck.
