Description
KINGS of PERSIS. Baydad (Bagadat). Early 3rd century BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.74 gm; 31 mm). Head right, with short beard, moustache, and earring, wearing kyrbasia with flaps tied behind / Baydad seated left, wearing long cloak and kyrbasia, holding scepter and cup; standard to inner left. K&M 2/1; Alram 511; Sunrise 557. The most clear overstrike (both on obverse and reverse) on an Alexander III Tetradrachm. Some Aramaic graffiti on obverse between 11-12 o'clock. Choice EF. Extremely rare.
