SELJUQS of RUM. Rukn al-Din Sulayman II, as Malik. AH 589-592(AD 1193-1196). Æ Dirhem (7.69 gm; 30mm x 27mm). Uncertain mint (Tokat?). Facing nimbate horesman galloping right, holding mace over his right shoulder, in left field, six-pointed star / Legend in three lines. Broome 39 Bv(iii). "This type was issued by Sulayman II shortly after the death of his father Qilich Arsalan II, when he was still a Malik (Prince). Some years later, Sulyman II expelled his brother Kay Khosrau and became the sole ruler of the Rum Sultanate. Lovely strike on a nice broad flan. Choice EF with earthen patina
