Seleukid Kingdom. Alexander I Balas. 152/1-145 B.C. AR tetradrachm (32 mm, 15.98 g, 12 h). S.E. 165 (148/7 B.C.). Diademed head of Alexander I right / BAΣIΛEΩΣ AΛEΞANΔPOY in two lines on right, ΘEOΠA-TOPOΣ EYEPΓETOY in two lines on left, Zeus seated left, holding Victory and lotus-tipped scepter; monogram before, EΞP (date) and monogram in exergue. SC 1784.5b; SMA 371. Nice metal. Lightly toned. Nearly extremely fine.
