Anglo-Saxon, Kings of Northumbria. Aldfrith. 685-705. AR sceatta (11 mm, 0.76 g, 12 h). +ALdFRIduS around pellet in annulet / Beast with triple-pronged tail standing left, biting unknown object. Metcalf pp. 117-9; SCBI -; BMC 3; North 176; SCBC 846; EMC 2006.002 = Coin Register (BNJ 2007), 151 (this coin). Extremely rare. Toned, some roughness and small flan flaws. Very fine.

Found in Thirkleby, North Yorkshire, in 2006.
