Carolingian. Louis the Pious. 814-840. AR denier (20 mm, 1.41 g, 5 h). Class 3. Uncertain mint, 822-840. + HLVDOVVICVS IMP, cross pattée; pellets in quarters / + PISTIANA RELIGIO, temple façade. Cf. MEC 1, 794 and 800 (for type). Toned, chipped edges. Very fine.
