Description
India, Post-Vakataka central India. Rana Vigraha. Ca. A.D. 600-700. Æ coin (17 mm, 4.32 g). Bull standing right, with bell in neck; Brahmi legend Sri Rana above / Kalasha (sacred vase) placed on a pedestal with two lamp posts flanking it. Rare.
Rana Vigraha was probably a local Rashtrakuta king who ruled over the Khandesh region of central India after the demise of the Vakatakas. He issued coins in the Vishnukundin fabric.
