Description
India, Hunnic kingdom in Sind/ Gujarat. Yashaaditya. Ca. A.D. 6th Century AR dramma (8 mm, .63 g). Bust of king right, wearing 'open rectangle' crown / Trident with curved side-prongs, with Brahmi legend Sri Yashaaditya arranged around. Pankaj Tandon, ‘More Early Medieval Silver Portrait Coins of the Yashaaditya Series’, JONS 195, pp. 17-23. These small enigmatic coins were discovered in Sind, and have been attributed to a local Hunnic kingdom or post-Hunnic minor dynasty ruling there in the 6th century. Rare.
