India, Kushan empire. Kanishka I. Ca. A.D. 127/8-152. Æ didrachm (22 mm, 8.23 g). Crowned king standing left, holding spear and sacrificing at altar at left, with Greek legend around / Solar deity Helios standing left, one hand on hip and the other raised in blessing, with a radiate halo around his head and Greek legend HΛIOC right. Gobl 766; MAC 3065-69. Rare.
This early coin type featured Greek solar deity Helios instead of Bactrian solar deity Mithra. It was issued only in Kanishka's first year.
