Description
India, Hindu rajas of Kashmir. Kshema Gupta without Didda Rani. ruled A.D. 950-958. Æ stater (18 mm, 5.64 g). Goddess Lakshmi seated facing; Nagari legend Kshema (Gu) at right / King standing sacrificing at altar, with Nagari legend pta (Deva) at right. Not listed in Mitchiner. A rare early issue with just the king's name Kshema – it is not recorded by Mitchiner. Kshema’s later coins all mention his queen Didda (MNI 172). Very rare.
